City-targeted residential proxies, explained
A city-targeted residential proxy sends your traffic through a home internet connection in the city you choose, so websites see a local visitor there. You pick the city in the proxy username, and at VerifDoc a city costs the same $1.00 per GB as any other location.

How it works
A residential proxy forwards your requests through an ordinary home internet connection, so the website sees a household's IP address instead of a data center's. Targeting tells the proxy network which households to use: any country, a state, a city, or one internet provider.
With VerifDoc you choose the place in the username, after your login:
Country: <your login>-country-us State: <your login>-country-us-state-texas City: <your login>-country-us-city-houston Provider: <your login>-country-us-asn-7922 Sticky: <your login>-country-us-city-houston-session-a1b2c3-lifetime-30
When a city matters
- Local search results, maps and ads, which change from one city to the next.
- Prices, delivery options and store stock that depend on where the shopper is.
- Testing your own site or app's location features as a visitor from that city.
Rotating or sticky
Rotating gives a new IP on every request: good for many independent page views. Sticky keeps the same IP for a session, from 10 minutes up to 24 hours: good when a site expects one visitor to stay on one address, like a logged-in session or a checkout.
Keep one sticky session per place. If a session that started in one city is reused for another, some networks keep the first IP, and the "new" city answers from the old one. VerifDoc's generator gives every place its own session names for that reason.
Where an IP really is
Geo-IP databases often disagree by a town or two, and sometimes more: a home IP can be placed in the city next door, or show its provider's office address. If a site must see one exact city, check the IP with the site's own location test first. The generator also checks whether a city has IPs right now, and offers the nearest ones that do when it doesn't.
What it costs
At VerifDoc it's $1.00 per GB whatever you target: a country, a city or an internet provider. Some providers charge more per GB for city or ISP targeting, or include it only on bigger plans. You buy whole GB from your balance and they never expire.
What's allowed
Seeing the web as people in a place do, and testing your own services, are fine. Fraud, spam, attacks on other sites and creating fake or bulk accounts aren't allowed, and accounts that do it are closed.
Questions
Do city-targeted proxies cost more?
Not at VerifDoc: $1.00 per GB for any location or internet provider.
Can I combine a city with an internet provider?
Yes. Add both to the username, for example a city and an ASN, and the IPs come from that provider in that city when it has some there.
What if a small town has no IPs?
Availability changes by the minute. The generator checks the town live and suggests the nearest places that have IPs right now.
HTTP or SOCKS5?
Both, on the same address, with your username and password.
