The best non-VoIP number services, compared

It depends on what you need. For the cheapest one-time US codes, non-voip.com and SMSPool listed lower prices than the rest on October 12, 2026. For keeping a number, VerifDoc's rentals were the cheapest we found, for every app or for one, for up to a year. All of them describe their numbers as real non-VoIP SIMs except 5sim, which sells virtual numbers.

VerifDoc prices are live (loading). Others as published on their sites on October 12, 2026. Prices are for one US number without a chosen area code. VerifDoc's monthly rental receives every app's texts; for one app it's less. non-voip.com's home page showed WhatsApp "from $1.61" the same day; 5sim's prices vary by operator, with different success rates.

Which one to pick

  • The cheapest one-time US codes: non-voip.com listed the lowest prices we saw (WhatsApp $0.46, Google $0.22), crypto only, with no rentals and no voice calls.
  • Paying by card: SMSPool and Bitcall take cards; most of the others are crypto only.
  • Keeping a number: VerifDoc had the lowest monthly rental we found, and rentals run up to a year, for every app or for one app.
  • More than codes: VerifDoc's balance also pays for VoIP numbers with calls and texts in the browser, business email and residential proxies.
  • Other countries: 5sim, Bitcall and non-voip.com sell numbers in 140+ countries (5sim's are virtual).

What to check before you buy

  • Real SIM or virtual: apps that refuse internet numbers refuse virtual ones too.
  • What happens if no code arrives: automatic refund, or a cancel or report you have to make in time.
  • Whether you'll need the number again: apps often send a new code when you sign in on another device, which a one-time number can't receive. Rent the number for accounts you keep.
  • Success rates, where a service publishes them: some cheap routes deliver the code less than half the time.

Services that have closed

DaisySMS's site says it shut down on March 26, 2026. SMS-Activate's site says it has stopped operating and warns that new sites using its name are scams.
